Corset Pattern - Poppy - a gusseted under-bust (intermediate)
This is a modern 20 panel under-bust corset pattern that uses opposing gussets to enable interesting material combinations - Sizes (UK) 8 -20 (US 4 - 16). This pattern also has different top and bottom sections to make it easier for you to size - 3 different under-bust and 6 different hip sizes against every waist size, so for instance if you are a 26'' waist, you can choose under-bust top sections of 30'', 31'', 32''' and bottom hip sections of 34'', 35'', 36'', 37'', 38''or 39''. If you fall within these sizes you will have not have to make any adjustments to your pattern whatsoever! It is still recommended you make a toile to tweak that final fit to achieve a comfortable fitting corset. Note - there is generous space in the front rib and sacrum areas. The gusset juxtapositions dictate an interesting design but precision cutting and exactness is needed hence it is categorised as an intermediate level design.
INCLUDES A 25 PAGE DOCUMENT OF CORSET CONSTRUCTION NOTES!
Note – a 2’’ back gap is factored into this pattern. If you would prefer your corset to close at the back, add 1’’ (25.4mm) to the edge of each panel 9/10 (the actual measurements will therefore be 2'' smaller than those detailed in the table).
The corset length measures 30.5cm at the centre front and 37cm at the back. There is a reduction of 3'' at the waist applied to the standard sizes.
This pattern is drafted in AutoCAD and available as an instant download - you will need to print out on size letter (A) or A4 paper, making sure 'actual size' and 'centre the print' is ticked in your print dialogue box.
See photo above for measurement chart.
