This is a 16 panelled Victorian-inspired demi-bust corset pattern with a beautiful conical rib curve to accentuate your waist (3'' waist reduction on standard sizes). ALSO INCLUDES A 25 PAGE DOCUMENT OF CORSET CONSTRUCTION NOTES!
Note – a 2'' back gap is factored into this pattern. If you would prefer a closed corset, add 1'' to each centre back panel 8 or make up the next largest size (which will be 2'' larger at the bust, under-bust, waist and hips).
The corset length measures 34cm (size 8) - 34.5cm (size 24) (approx. 13.5'') at the centre front and 37cm (size 8) - 39cm (size 24) (approx. 15'') at the back. The rib shaping is conical and the sizing makes it advantageous for those with small rib cage measurements. There are alternative panel sections that can be used to get a closer fit before embarking on your toile (a +/-1'' on the under-bust and a +2/4'' on the hips plus a small/medium and large cup) - this is an exclusive Corsets by Caroline pattern addition not offered by any other independent pattern maker.
This pattern is drafted in AutoCAD and downloadable as a pdf file - you will need to print out on size A (letter) or A4 paper, making sure 'actual size' is ticked in your print dialogue box. A large format print size (A0 or ANSI E) is also given.
A toile must always be made to check the fit of corset patterns – at this stage you can take in the smaller of your measurements and transfer these amendments to your pattern to ensure a perfect fitting corset! You will also be able to test the length of the corset at the toile stage - lengthen or shorten just above the waist.
