This is a modern 16 panel over-bust (not including cups) corset pattern with a beautiful hour-glass curve to accentuate your waist (4'' waist reduction on standard sizes) - bust sizes A - E. ALSO INCLUDES A 25 PAGE DOCUMENT OF CORSET CONSTRUCTION NOTES!
The corset can be made as a standard over-bust with boned princess seams, or as a strapped version with the cups boned vertically or not at-all (the strap gives the support).
Note – no back gap is factored into this pattern. If you would prefer a gap, subtract 1'' from the centre back of each panel 7.
The corset length measures 31cm (12'') at the front (to bottom of cup at centre front) and 35cm (14'') at the back.
This pattern is drafted in AutoCAD and downloadable as a pdf file - you will need to print out on size A (letter) or A4 paper, making sure 'actual size' is ticked in your print dialogue box.
There are different sections that can be used to finesse the fit - the measurement chart below shows that for every dress/waist size there is an option to use a waist to underbust 'top' that is 1'' larger or smaller than the standard size, and a hip 'tail' that is 1'' or 2'' larger or smaller than the standard size. For instance a 25'' closed waist can be partnered with an ub of 30.5'', 31.5'' & 32.5 and a hip of 34'', 35'', 36'', 37 and 38''.This is good for beginners or corset makers who find altering patterns difficult.
A toile must always be made to check the fit of corset patterns – at this stage you can take in the smaller of your measurements and transfer these amendments to your pattern to ensure a perfect fitting corset! You will also be able to test the length of the corset at the toile stage - lengthen or shorten just above the waist.
